Terre d’Aigles 2023
Encépagement
The Terre D’Aigles 2023 is a blend of 65% Grenache, 10% of Syrah, 20% of Carignan and 5% of Counoise.
The grapes have been selected from terroir located close to the river « Aygues » in Cairanne : « Les Granges, Beauchières, Charpier and la Meyeau ».
Vignes et rendement
The average age of the vines is 70 years old.
Aygues terroirs are mostly made up of sand, silt and heavy clay. The Aygue area is also called « wine cellar of the vineyard. » For the significant yield and the fertility of the soil. Historic heart of the Domaine Richaud, Aygues vines have been the first ones vinified by Marcel Richaud in the 70’s.
Elevage
Short vinification from 8 to 12 days, to obtain the best fruit expression.
The wine is ageing during 8 months in concrete vats.
Low sulfiting before botteling only 1.5g/hl.
Storage at a stable temperature, in underground tanks.
Dégustation
This wine have a dark red colour, shinny with garnet tinges. Nose en palate offers jammy red fruits notes lightly spiced. Tanins are soft and thin. The mouth is succulent and spicy with pepper final.
This Côtes-du-Rhône get greed and vivacity balance.
This wine should be drank within two years.
